FMLA Final RuleFMLA Final Rule :ย On February 6, 2013, the DOL published aย final ruleย to implementย statutory amendmentsย made over the last several years.

Several of the changes to the FMLA regulations, which become effective on March 8, 2013, include:

  • Military caregiver leave for a veteran;
  • Qualifying exigency leave for parental care; and
  • A special leave calculation method for flight crew employees.

The final rule requires the use of updated FMLAย formsย andย posterย beginning March 8, 2013.

Please note that employees at work sites with less than 50 employeesย are not coveredย by the FMLA, if the employer employs fewer than 50 employees within a 75-mile radius of that work site.
