There’s a lot we can learn by looking backward. We can see the benefits employees chose, the questions they asked, where they struggled and where they needed more help. And as our ability to understand those experiences has grown, so has our ability to make benefits more personalized and easier to navigate.

Our Benefits Insights research examines how employees experience and engage with their benefits, giving us an increasingly rich view into the financial pressures, health needs and life circumstances that can influence their decisions. It helps us understand not just what employees are doing, but what may be driving those decisions.

But there’s a bigger question in all of that insight: What if it could help us look forward, too?

If the signals are there, the next evolution of benefits isn’t simply becoming better at responding to employees, it’s recognizing what they may need sooner and creating an opportunity to help before a challenge becomes a problem.

That thinking is behind anticipation, Businessolver’s approach to using benefits data and intelligence to recognize what employees may need next and create opportunities to act sooner.

Benefits technology has historically been built around an action. Someone searches for information, makes a decision, asks a question or reaches out for support, and the experience responds. Over time, those responses have become faster, easier and more personalized. That’s meaningful progress, but we believe there’s another step ahead.

Anticipation is about better understanding what’s happening within the benefits experience and what may be coming next. When we can recognize patterns and context earlier, we’re in a better position to deliver relevant guidance and support at a moment when it can make a difference. And with the advances of AI, it’s never been more possible than in this moment.

It changes the question from simply, “How do we solve this?” to “Could we have seen this coming?”

Why is Businessolver a benefits administration market leader?

As we’ve been challenging ourselves to think differently about what comes next in benefits, three separate organizations have taken their own look at Businessolver and our position in the market. They approached it through different methodologies and perspectives, but reached a remarkably consistent conclusion:

  • ISG named Businessolver a Leader in Health & Welfare Benefits Administration Services for the third consecutive year.
  • Sapient Insights Group ranked Businessolver No. 1 for enterprise benefits solutions for both Vendor Satisfaction and User Experience.
  • Everest Group named Businessolver a Leader in both U.S. Health & Welfare Benefits Solutions and Platforms, with Benefitsolver rated highest among the 22 platforms evaluated.

Taken together, these independent assessments recognize Businessolver’s leadership across benefits administration, enterprise benefits solutions and benefits technology.

The recognition matters. But what’s particularly meaningful is what it represents at this moment for Businessolver and the total rewards leaders and employees we serve.

At the same time we’re challenging ourselves to think differently about what comes next in benefits, outside perspectives are recognizing the value Businessolver delivers today. That gives us an important foundation for what we believe comes next.

A leadership position can’t only be a measure of how well you solve the problems the industry already knows. It also means paying attention to what’s changing for employees and employers, recognizing the signals and having a point of view about where the benefits experience needs to go next.

Benefits Insights helps us understand what people are experiencing today. Anticipation is about using that understanding to shape what happens tomorrow.

Because sometimes the most valuable insight isn’t understanding what just happened.

It’s seeing what’s coming.
